Michiru Kita’s a weak-spirited girl who has a hard time saying what’s on her mind. One day, she notices mysterious, ring-like markings around the necks of two of her classmates, Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana — two boys who miraculously survived a horrible accident six months before. Michiru, possessing the rare ability to see these rings, knows that they warn of impending death. Thinking that, perhaps, she can do something to save her classmates’ lives, she approaches them… but it seems the boys have already made a different kind of deal and garnered themselves a heavy debt

Before thinking writing a post on the series, I had the re-read the manga, which was a really good thing. I was introduced to hot looking guy, like Sotetsu, that I forgot about once again. It’s maybe a shounen manga, but there is a lot of eyes candy for the female reader.

Shito Tachibana

Zombie-Loan have a generic character setting, two boy who can’t get along and a air-headed girl. It’s not the first time we see this trio in a series and it will not be the last time. Putting aside that fact, we have a interesting story where not all the zombie are bad, where we get a second chance in life.

The choose of main character might be unoriginal, but the character themselves are interesting. First we have the cocky and energetic Chika Atkasuki, before becoming a zombie, he used to live with his over loving father and his cold and distant little sister. Like

Chika Akatsuki

Chika both of them have really good gene. Chika might be a pain most of the time, but he genuinely love his little sister. He really care about her, but the latter doesn’t seems to care much about him. After we have the

other zombie, Shito Tachibana, he is the silent type, I can’t really say much about him without spoiling anything. So you either spoil yourself by looking up on the Wikipedia page or the Wikia page, or you read the series. The last member of the trio is Michiru Kita. The young lady is in the same class room than Chika and Shito and possess Shinagami eyes, which mean she can spot zombies in the crowd. Cause yes, most of the zombies of the series doesn’t look like regular zombie, so she ends-up helping the t

wo guy to find and “kill” illegal zombies after they raise the amount of their debt to save her. Now she doesn’t really have the choice to stick around them even if they are not always nice to her, but thing will gradually start to change. Supporting the main three characters, we meet Bekkou, who is a ferryman and created zombie by signing a contract with death people, Yuuta who is also a zombie, but have the abilities to heal people and Koyomi the descendant of the Yoimachi family and have a double personality, Yomi, who can speak the language of the Death.

Story wise, it got an interesting plot, two zombie who need to pay their debt by killing other zombie with the help of a human they save, doing so they are uncovering a secret organisation who want to create the chaos in the heaven and wont tell you more you just have to read the manga. or watch the anime if you don’t like to
read. The manga series got his anime adaptation in 2007 by the studio Xebec (Pandora Heart, Love Hina). The anime series count thirteen episodes. I haven’t watch it yet, it’s still sitting in my queue list on Crunchyroll.

  1. I’d never heard of this anime so I search Crunchyroll:

Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region.

Awesome. Will investigate elsewhere because it sounds kind of fun.
