K-Friday | Versatile Forestella

Hello Everyone!
Hope you are all doing well today!

I discovered Forestella two or three years ago on the musical variety show, Immortal Song, if I normally look into a new discovery discography, for some reason I didn’t the first time I came across the group and I really should have look into them earlier.

Forestella is a vocal crossover group who debuted in 2018 with their first album Evolution. Winner of the JTBC show Phantom Singer 2, the quatuor is sign under Arts & Artist. In May 2019, they released their second album, Mystique.

When I decided to look into what the group had released, I started by their debut album and OMG this is probably one of the best debuted album I heard in awhile.

For me debut album serve as selling the album, it need to be representative of what the group is and Evolution do the perfect job at selling Forestella different side.

As I said earlier, it is a crossover vocal group which mean that you can find them performing a lot of different genre. On Evolution you will find a lot of style, something upbeat like “I’m Coming Now”, the ballad “You Are My Star”, a few Italian opera, something more rock like “Primula” and then you have a song like “You Change My World” that reminds me a lot of “Sweet Dream” by Eurythmic (song they cover on Immortal Song btw).

I was amazed by Evolution, I love how versatil the group is.

Mystique is also as interesting with tracks like “My Favorite Things” from the movie The Sound of Music or their cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” from Queen.

I will say it again, the group is awesome and I should totally had look into them earlier, they are just amazing and I’m looking forward their next album when it will come. While I am waiting I will continue to watch them on Immortal Song.

Talking of Immortal Song, if you follow me on Twitter, you probably saw me posting about a few performance of the group, like that one time they covered “The Sound of Silence”, you can find the mini thread here.

Forestella was a pleasant discovery when I came them the first time and now the group is definitely part of my favorite group. They are now for everyone, however if you are looking for a new group that is different from the other, I would highly suggest you to give them a try.

This was my K-Friday post for this week, hope you enjoyed.

Did you heard about Forestella before? What do you think of them?

Let me know in the comment section blow.

  1. This was lovely to read! I also discovered Forestella possibly around the same time as you, but I know I definitely haven’t listened to enough of their music so thank you for some recommendations!
